homage

Football is a religion in the Deep South, and its prophets are revered accordingly. Pat Dye, Gene Stallings, and of course the blessed Bear Bryant are names as familiar to me as Charles Wesley or Martin Luther. I'm not kidding. So it is with slight incredulity (SERIOUSLY?! Because of one season?!) and a hand over my heart I say farewell to Auburn's football coach. Tommy Tuberville, we hardly knew ye. Enjoy your six million in severance pay and know that you will be remembered fondly.

ahhhh indeed! Farewell Ole Tommy! Forget the 6 GREAT years of coaching AND winning THE most important "Bowl" game in the SEC....you had an off year and lost 1 Iron Bowl...YOU'RE OUT!!!! (never fear...I'm sure we'll see him again next fall on ESPN)

yeah can you believe that crap!?! I heard rumors, but I said, no way they would fire him after winning SIX (RIGHT!?!?) iron bowls in a row...and then losing ONE. No way would they fire him after just one off season...
