Well. I'm philosophically opposed to supporting the gluttony of consumerism on Black Friday, and yet a. I'm awake anyway at 4:24 a.m., having slept from 8:30 p.m. until 4 a.m. (this happens to me a lot right now - fall asleep at 7 p.m., and up before dawn. I suppose that's what I get for taking on the sleep pattern of a toddler); b. there are some really good deals on things I would buy anyway, and c. as crazy as this is, I really enjoyed Christmas shopping on Black Friday last year. It's the high of a good sale, you know. Knowing I got a deal. And typically I'm pretty good at only buying what I intended to buy. But do I allow myself to be sucked in?

What to do, what to do.

In other news - Silas is at my parents' house this weekend, and Asher has gone on a weekend trip with Brian's parents (his first trip without us, but that part doesn't concern me. He's in good hands), so Brian and I have a kid free weekend. Every couple of months we'll stumble on a kid-free night, but an entire weekend seems ... extravagant. We are going away for one night, and will be home for the other. So what will I do with two and a half full days without children? Finish preparing for Christmas, work on Emmy's room. And with any luck I might actually sleep until daylight. This will likely be our last kid-free spree for at least a year (I'm not very good at leaving babies, even with grandparents), and I'm thankful for it. So is it too hokey to tell you that I really miss my kids? And that I had a hard time leaving them - especially Silas, but that's a post for another time - last night?

Good ... night? Morning? all.

PS - For those of you whose lives don't revolve around SEC football, today is the Auburn/ Alabama game. And I just saw the best quote - "If it's Auburn against the world today, good luck world." War Eagle.
