It’s so fun to work on something new. I’m really excited about the new blog. Please stick with me and share your own ideas - I think this could turn into something good. Although Wordpress is giving me some trouble, which is again operator error without a doubt. I do like some of their features, though. I just like the way blogger actually posts better. Alas.

I have been thinking about mercy versus sacrifice. Have you? It’s been on my mind a lot, lately. So has unity and compassion, and how to serve with my children in tow, and why I should serve with my children in tow (and there’s no doubt that I should). And I want to tell you guys all about all of this … but we’re having computer troubles, which is why you aren’t hearing as much of substance from me as you normally would (which is saying something, because substance was already scarce). Stick with me, though - I promise to write about more than my beautiful little boys, if you promise to keep sticking your head in the door every now and then.

Also, I saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince last night. Very well done. I loved the special effects (Dumbledore’s fire in the cave? You know that was cool) and I loved the seamlessness (for the first time) of the story line. It’s like they finally figured out how to fit it all into one plot line, rather than chasing so many rabbits in the movies (that flow much better in the books, but isn’t that always the case?). But poor Harry. Everybody he loves dies. Sorry if I’m giving anything way, but also, if I’m giving it away, COME OUT OF YOUR CAVE AND READ HARRY POTTER ALREADY.

As an aside - I don’t think there’s a moral argument to be made against Harry Potter. The story is always good versus evil. Book 7 even has some symbolism that nods its head towards Christ, if you ask me. CS Lewis may have been more overt, but the magic is the same, and in the end - for them both - good always wins.

More later. I’m off to finish my errands, then go to my sister’s birthday. By the way, my sister’s baby has dropped, and GOOD WORD she’s carrying that boy low. She can’t possibly go another four weeks … she looks just like I did at 36 weeks, which turned out to be exactly one week before Silas was born.

Please don’t give up on me, bloggy friends. I promise to say something worth reading soon.

I agree with your thoughts about HP (in general...I haven't seen the movie yet).

Because I am a Christian, and my worldview is based on that, I can't watch/read HP without seeing Biblical lessons in it.

Most of the anti-Potters (due to religious reasons) that I know have never looked into it for themselves...they just based their opinion on what someone else told them. I don't get that.
