It's the meeting grounds for the emotions of gratitude, longing, celebration, and grace. - Sandra McCracken

re-
I did, indeed, retreat this weekend. It was exactly what I needed it to be - relaxed and chatty and holy and active, all at the same time.
I hope you all have a friend with whom you can think out loud and be wrong and drive in circles and pray, and always - no matter how long you've been together - be sad to see her leave. Mikkee is the perfect traveling companion for me - she likes to be outside, she is ready for bed by 9 pm, and she is always tolerant of my coffee needs.
We found a great deal at Callaway Gardens (appropriately named the Stimulus Package). You guys have been holding out on me. I had no idea Callaway Gardens was so cool. I was envisioning dancing teddy bears in overalls and waiting in line to walk past a wall of dried butterflies. I had no idea it was hiking trails and hidden chapels. It was a great place to spend a day or two.
And it did exactly what retreats are supposed to do - I am refreshed, quasi-rested, and ready to approach my work with a little less lunacy and a little more gratitude.
(I am also, it seems alliteration happy tonight. Alas.)
Happy Sunday, everyone. Hope your weekend was as restful as mine.

And all of those things you envisioned of Calloway gardens are the visions that have kept me away.
