the day after

I would love to tell you I have super cute Halloween pictures for you. I really would.

One was all too willing to pose as King David, Defeater of Goliath:

But the Grasshopper, quite simply, could not be bothered:

Add to that a Baptism (when did our kids get old enough to pose like this?) and a visit from Mikkee (I'm SO BIG - don't even bother saying it's all in my stomach, because it's a nice sentiment, but I know better) ...

and tonsil recovery, and stir.

It's been exactly how you expect it to be - three parts SO FUN, two parts WHERE'D HE GO?!, and four parts WE CAN'T TALK ABOUT IT UNTIL YOU STOP WHINING.

Randomly, Silas has slept better since his surgery than he was before ... if anyone knows what that's about, I"m listening, because I don't have a clue.

For now, I'm off to feed my children some protein to counteract the sugar, give them a good bath to make up for the one we skipped last night, and put everyone to bed - possibly before dark.

Happy detox, all.

Well, at least you did get some pictures. I did not take a single shot.

For awhile, we thought Olivia might have child apnea because she'd wake up so often at night, so I did a lot of research on that. Apparently, some children have a bit of obstruction in their airways that makes them stop breathing and wake up, and removing their tonsils helps "cure" their apnea. So maybe that's why he's sleeping better?

You know, they asked me if he had any apnea. I told them I didn't think so, but he hasn't slept in a room with us since he was an infant, so I definitely could have been missing the signs. But he's been waking up between 4 and 5 a.m. for a while, and since his surgery he is sleeping until 6:30 or so ... maybe so? I don't know.

YOu didn't sleep all night until you were four years old and had both tonsils and adenois removed. Before then, you sounded like a cat when you slept. I think the answer is in the adenois. Plus, swollen tonsils likely do obstruct swalling and breathing.

The main thing is that he will sleep better now -- !!
