day 4

We've seen

and of course you knew that at some point in the week, this would happen -

The other guys in the picture are part of the Crooked Road Trail, which exists purely to play bluegrass music in the places it originated. They traveled a long way just to stop at museums and living rooms and play. My kind of people.

Yesterday we kayaked ten miles down a very dry river. Kayaking in shallow water feels an awful lot like work to me, and about seven miles into it I began to feel like a pregnant woman who was trying to kayak down a dry river. We came home and I crashed, emerging today a little worse for the wear.

Nothing says vacation like Tylenol and aloe, eh?

We leave tomorrow - our plan today is to do as little as possible, wait out the crowds on the bike trail, and go ride again in the late afternoon.

I've been told that my kids are indeed still breathing without me, though that's a little hard for me to imagine. I have missed them, but I have also really enjoyed having time to hang out with Brian. Ten years tomorrow, can you believe that? When did I get old enough to be married ten years and have a third baby on the way?

Happy Wednesday.
