1. We have had a busy, positive, productive week. Which naturally means we seem destined to crash today. Asher has eaten breakfast, built a fort, turned off every light in the house to play with a flashlight, worked at his "train desk" for at least 20 minutes creating a construction site for the train to drive through, taken most of the toys out of his closet, and used the tire pump to work on his ride-on tractor. Now he is off to put Mickey Mouse in his seatbelt. Silas woke up early, had a showdown with his Dad over the "no feeding your breakfast to the dog" rule in our house, completed a successful dirty diaper, hung out on my hip for a long time, and took apart every single puzzle in the toy closet. He is now taking an early nap. And in addition to all of the things I normally do in the morning, I have spent the last thirty minutes trying IN VAIN to get facebook and my 2002 computer to see eye-to-eye. In short, it's 9:00 a.m. and feels like 11:30. But not in a bad way.

2. How to cook a perfect roast for four people:

Go buy this roast.
Put it (frozen or defrosted - doesn't matter) in the crockpot at 8:30 a.m. with some water. Turn the crockpot on high.
At 5:30, turn off the crockpot.
Eat.

It's the best thing ever. Ever. Ever. And I'm a pretty good judge of roasts. It's not too fatty, it's not too dry. It requires no seasoning, but it's not overly seasoned or sodium-y. It was enough meat for one full meal, and then one leftover/ salad meal a few nights later. But not so much meat that I was left thinking, NOW what do I do with all of this roast? It is also tender, and CHEAP. I bought it on sale, making it extra cheap, but even full-priced it is WAY cheaper than cooking an entire roast that will mostly get thrown away in a small family anyway. Seriously. Trust me on this.

3. Happy birthday to Janet, Laurie, and Carrie (I think I may have even said those in the correct order, which would be a first for me). They all have birthdays in the same week - right now - so - Hi and Happy Birthday To You.

The end.
