In case you're interested -
He had crackers over the weekend - he had a runny nose, but nothing out of the ordinary. Then he had crackers followed by infant oatmeal Monday evening and had a reaction (spit up most of his meal, extremely fussy). Tuesday morning he had his normal breakfast - infant oatmeal, sweet potatoes, and bottle - and had a reaction. In my mind it was still the crackers, so I didn't worry about it (I mean, I did, but I didn't worry about what he was reacting to). Except that he had another reaction Tuesday evening, the next time he had infant oatmeal again, and with more than 24 hours since his last exposure to crackers.
Infant oatmeal, club crackers, and graham crackers - the only common denominator is soy lecithin.
I won't explain this very well and I'm not taking the time to google it, but once you've had a build up in your system of an allergen that causes an allergic reaction, you can then develop a reaction to something you've always eaten that contains smaller amounts of the same thing. For example, I used to eat scallops with no trouble. Then I had a reaction to clams. Now I can't eat scallops.
I think that's what happened. The crackers pushed him over the (allergic) edge, and now he can't eat oatmeal.
Okay, fine. But what am I supposed to feed him now? Can a boy really live on fruit alone?

Have you tried the rice cereal instead? Or maybe come kinda organic cereal? It might be more expensive but at least he'd be able to eat it. Or even barley.
are you kidding? soy is in everything!
Hmmm....frustrating. Will pray for wisdom.
