Three years ago this week I left Kansas City to spend a few weeks at my parents' house while we made a decision about where to go next. Here we are, hiking with Nick and Laura. First of all, does it boggle anyone else's mind that four entire human beings exist now that did not exist then? Second, look at how skinny we were!
Two years ago this week, I was equal parts overwhelmed and amazed by a tiny round Asher Paul.
One year ago this week, I was enjoying the freedom of a one-nap schedule and worrying needlessly over my pregnancy. And taking pictures of a toddling babbling baby boy. He had this little plaid shirt that he wore all the time that I loved, and he would wander around the front yard, camouflaged in lime green, trying to eat the azaleas and pointing to the clouds.
It was a sweet season. And never, in my wildest imagination, did I dream I would be repeating it this spring - plaid and all, or that I would be equally overwhelmed and amazed by a curious, outgoing little Silas James.
