calling all super readers

Argh. Blogger just deleted my post.

Let's try again.

Silas, it seems, has been having an allergic reaction the past couple of days that finally came to a head this morning. I couldn't get him to stop crying, at all, unless I held him - not Brian, me - (which is sweet but also not a good sign - it means a baby is really uncomfortable). So I took him into the doctor (of course) and while waiting in the room I discovered an excema-type rash on his back and arms. The doctor confirmed that it was an allergic reaction to something. The last foods to be introduced were Club crackers and graham crackers. I've been reading the ingredients, and I can't decide if there is any dairy in them. They don't SAY that they contain dairy, but do any of those names actually translate into some sort of dairy product? It's important because I need to know if this is a flare up from an existing (dairy) allergy, or if he's showing a reaction to something new (possibly wheat or soy). Anyway, if you have a few minutes, would you look at the labels too? Club crackers are here and graham crackers are here. Break out your magic decoder rings and decide if YOU can sniff out any dairy in there.

The only other possibility is that the exposure to cleaning chemicals sparked some kind of reaction, but I really don't think that's it. I cleaned the rug outside, and he never touched it, and was only exposed to the fumes while I was working. He didn't breathe them in overnight or anything. Also, the fussiness/ spitting up started a day or two ago, and has gotten progressively worse, so I think the two aren't related.

By day, she's an ordinary mom. But in the naptime hour, she becomes a (insert dramatic music here) food detective.

Happy sleuthing.

None of those things look like dairy to me. Plus, on the club crackers, I would think it would list dairy as a possible allergen if it was in there.

Neither of those have dairy. The one thing they both have in common is wheat and soy bean oil.
