Insomnia is a slow death. Every night I fall asleep relatively easily, wake up sometime around midnight, and am UP! for a few hours. For a few nights my thoughts kept me up. Now I don't know what it is, but I wish it would stop. I know sleeplessness is part of pregnancy, but seriously, I would like to speak to Whoever came up with that plan. In a few months, mandatory sleeplessness will be part of my life, and I will wonder if I'm ever going to sleep more than three hours at a stretch again. Shouldn't I be stocking up on sleep while I can?
After many days of sleeplessness, you can imagine how much fun I am to be around. Factor into that Asher transitioning out of his morning nap, and about 11 am every day he acts the way I feel.
Praise Jesus that Brian is level-headed and home most evenings.
That's all I've got. Happy - what? Thursday, I think - everyone.

THought of you when I woke up at 4:00 this morning. Luckily, I fell right back to sleep.
Can you take Ambien or Rozerem when pregnant? Or even Benadryl? Because they'll both help, and Ambien rocks my world. No icky sleepy hangover in the morning, just...UP!
i'm so sorry you are having trouble sleeping. until yesterday i was having that problem too, but mostly because it was so cold i would wake myself up from my shivering. some kind soul donated a heater to me, and last night was the first night i've slept more than two consecutive hours since the cold front came through. i hope you can find your trick too!
Ambien is ok to take. They gave me 2 when I was in "false labor" (which wasn't actually false) and sent me home telling me I would be able to get some sleep. I was back at the hospital 2 hours later at 8cm dilated and falling asleep between final contractions.
how bout a guys perspective....I have not slept good in years. I have had all the tests run and dont have any sleep problems
I have taken Rozerem and Ambian...tylenol pm...name it and I might have had it once or twice. I read ...Lots! I will think about you next time I am up...
Peace
Oh, I can't stand insomnia. I hope you get some rest soon....I had a terrible time with this when I was pregnant with Nina. And my frustration only made it worse.
You have read my posts on momsomnia, right? I feel your pain, sister.
You can take Benadryl or Unisom - the one that has doxylamine succinate - when you are pg. Doxylamine succinate is actually a morning sickness drug so it is totally safe. I usually only need 1/2 a pill and then I don't get a hangover either.
There is also a natural product called Alluna Sleep that my OB suggested - it didn't work for me tho.
It took till my 3rd pregnancy until I just gave into the fact that I had to be a nightly pill popper. It was either pill popper or mean momma, and I chose pill popper. Raising a toddler on no sleep is just brutal.
