lullaby

by Dixie Chicks - does anybody know if this is a remake? I swear the tune sounds familiar, but I can't place it.

Anyone? Anyone?

Speaking of lullabies - I had a dream the other night about the baby. We had the ultrasound, and it was a girl. We started calling her by name, saying she was going to be here soon. In the dream, we were SUPER excited. I don't know if the dream means that I'm having a girl, or if it's just about me being excited about a baby.

I have my next doctor's appointment on July 26. After that, we'll schedule the big ultrasound, where we'll find out the sex of the baby. I think we're settled on a boy name and a girl name (I like both names so much, it's hard to believe I'm only going to get to use one of them. How silly is THAT?); once we know what we're having, we'll let you know what their name is, too.

By the way, in general, I'm better than I've been. Life is more hopeful. Hopeful is good.

But seriously, about the Dixie Chicks and "Lullaby" ...

I love that song!! I used to sing that to Haydn when I held him (that was back in the day that he was fascinated with my curls - so he didnt mind that I usually sing a little off-key =) I don't know if it is a remake or not - let me know if you find out.

According to wikipedia, "Lullaby" was written by members of the Dixie Chicks plus Dan Wilson, so, unfortunatly it is not a cover.

This announcement was brought to you by Powdermilk Biscuits...if it doesn't say Powdermilk, it's not much of a biscuit.

I hadn't heard that song yet but I really like it. I looked up the lyrics and got a preview of the song off their website. Thanks for bringing it to attention.

Can't wait to see or hear about the baby! Hope you had a wonderful birthday!

I dont know which album it is off of, but I knew the song when Haydn was just a baby. Is it on their new cd too?

Allow me to offer this:

Lullaby is off the new album. It goes "How long do you want to be loved..."

Godspeed (Sweet Dreams) is probably the one Liz used to sing to Haydn. It is a lullaby, but is not titled as such. It goes "Godspeed, little man. Sweet dreams, little man..." It was on their last album, Home.

This announcement was brought to you by Guy Noir, private eye, and the new movie "A Prairie Home Companion" in theaters now!

yes - my sister gave me the new album for my birthday. I love it, too.

I had a funny moment this morning -I got into my dad's car (which was formerly Mary's car) and pressed the eject button on the CD player. The disc that came out had VM (Malerie Varlowe) written in Sharpie on the front. My thought was - no matter how far away they are, my friends are still a part of my daily life. How funny.
