Hey! You out there! Melinda! Carrie! Elizabeth! Jan! Cindy!
What the heck is going on at Asbury? IHOP has been seriously praying this week for Asbury, and then Melinda vaguely mentioned something on her blog. I'd like to know more. Is it a spontaneous revival or the beginning of an organized house of prayer? What is the spirit of the place, if that makes sense ... what I mean is, if it is a true revival, different places/ moments have experienced different attributes of God. So what does it look like? Were any of you there when it started? What happened?
What's going on at Asbury?

hey, i don't know alot...just what i heard from melinda...other people THERE might know better...she said that they had a student chapel monday and it just never ended. People are going up and sharing, praying, singing. Everybody is saying it's not revival, that God is just working in their lives...they are being intentional not to make it be about whatever might have happened in the past at Asbury. I don't know if it's still going on, but it sounds cool. Here's a website about it: http://www.asbury.edu/press/chapelcontinues06
Was IHOP praying for Asbury spontaneously or because someone asked for prayer or ??? That's REALLY cool!!
Chapel started at 10 am and it was a student led chapel.
and a guy shared his testimony; he gave a alter call and then a girl got up on stage and said if anyone thinks that God has something for them to share, they can come to the front
then people from the audience would start a praise song in between speakers...and then a praise band just sorta formed....and then it just continued like that;the guy just shared about how he had been into drinking and stuff and how God had delivered him from it...from my perspective...it wasn't a profound speaker or a profound message....
it was just God
I know that's not well written, but it's something...also a couple of weeks ago they started an AHOP...asbury house of prayer...

Is the A-HOP 24/7?
I don't know if the prayer was spontaneous or not ... nothing surprises me at IHOP, though, seriously. It's interesting how many people here have a background from Asbury. It would seem that the two organizations would not naturally cross paths as much as they do ... one of the main leaders here is from Asbury, though (Allen Wood), and several students end up here, or vice versa. Go figure.
Thanks for the info ...
So I just need to say this one little thing somewhere on the Internet, and the comment section of my own blog is as good a place as any. I just read a post from another site called, "Got 99 problems, but a bitch ain't one of them." To each his own, of course, and it's this guy's right to say whatever he wants, that's fine. But honey, if you keep posting things like that PUBLICLY, a bitch is NEVER going to be your problem. You will soon be able to write LENGTHY posts about the life of singleness and CELIBACY, friend. That's all ... just a tip, from me to you.
I don't know much about what is going on at Asbury - except what I hear from a couple of friends I have on campus. I am hoping to make it out there tomorrow night - so hopefully I can share more then. Revival or just the presence of God - formal or unintential - God is moving and answering prayers that have been in earnest for years. Praise God!
(Heather - let me know when you are here! I'll mark off from work - I WANT to see you guys!!)
that sounds totally amazing, woohoo!
